Louis William Gluesen

Louis Gluesen, 97, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the Mayo St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Louis was born on September 14, 1929, to Henry & Emma (Reese) Gluesen in Lake City, MN. He was raised in Lake City. He married his wife Dorothy Braatz on November 1, 1958 in Wabasha, MN. Louis and Dorothy raised 3 children in Lake City. He worked many different jobs before working for the Lake City Street Department for 25 years before retiring. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church. Louis collected toy tractors, loved to work on his Ford F-150 1976 truck in his work shop. He and his wife loved to camp with their whole family and had many different campers over the years. Louis and his wife later took bus trips, train trips and took cruises together. His most treasured accomplishments where, raising his 3 children with good family values and having a great marriage with his wife.

Louis is survived by his wife, Dorothy; 3 children, Luann (Tim) Kramer, Dale Gluesen, Daryl (Sonia) Gluesen; grandchildren, Anthony, Zachary, Mika, Lira; great grandchildren, Kelvin and Kolsen Kramer brother-in-law’s, Russell (Denise) Braatz, Roger (Jean) Braatz.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Emma Gluesen,

A Memorial Service will be Sunday, October 25th at 1:30 pm at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City with Reverend Dale Kohrs officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
