Marilyn Mildred Glander, 89, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Red Wing surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 26, 1936, in Belle Creek Township to Henry and Erna (Klindworth) Hinrichs. She was raised in Red Wing and surrounding Goodhue County. She attended District #2 School in Wacouta Township through the 8th grade. She worked at Macs Café in Red Wing for one year, then seven years for the Red Wing Shoe Company. On February 8, 1958, she was married to Clarence Glander at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Red Wing. She was a licensed daycare provider in her own home for 34 years. Her faith was important to her and she was a dedicated member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Marilyn cherished every opportunity to spend time with her family. She enjoyed traveling, baking, canning, embroidery and reading.
Marilyn is survived by her three children, Sue (Loren) Schmidt of Red Wing, Darold (Julie) Glander of Red Wing and Diane (Pete) Kutschied of Longville, MN; seven grandchildren, Brady Schmidt, Jessica (Adam) Bartlewski, Brandon (Cassie) Schmidt, Andrew and Matt (Vanessa) Glander and Tyler (Leslea) Kutschied and Ryan (Chelsea) Kutschied;10 great grandchildren, Brodie and Baylee Bartlewski, Skylar and Willow Schmidt, Sawyer and Walker Kutschied, Riley Glander, and Evan, Kyen and Rowan Kutschied; two sisters, Carol Lichtblau of Lake City and Darlene Richter of Red Wing; two brothers, Virgil Hinrichs of Hager City and Roger (JoAnne) Hinrichs of Lake City along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence; one sister, Dorothy Paul; one brother, Harold Hinrichs and great granddaughter, Brooklyn Schmidt.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Todd Engel officiating. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
