Marilyn Tiedemann

Marilyn Lois Tiedemann, 93, of Zumbrota, MN, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Marilyn was born July 23, 1930, to Roy and Edna (Kackmann) Budensiek in Red Wing, MN. She was the oldest of five children. Marilyn graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1948. She worked four years at Clifford Gradem's Coast to Coast store in Zumbrota. On August 23, 1952, she married Merral Tiedemann at Zumbrota Congregational Church. Marilyn was a stay-at-home mom until Lynn was about 3 years old. She worked seasonal at the Mazeppa Apple Orchard and in the kitchen at the Livestock Auction Barn. She started working for Frieda Banitt at Banitt's store in Zumbrota in 1973 and continued to work for Lochner's from 1980-1998. Marilyn was employed for a total of 25 years at the store. From 1998 - 2012, she substituted at Zumbrota-Mazeppa school as a para and went on to work in the kitchen. She taught Sunday school and was a charter member of Tops. Marilyn belonged to and served as treasurer of Senior Citizens in Mazeppa, for many years.

Marilyn is survived by her children, John (Suzanne) Tiedemann of Mazeppa, Cynthia (Jerry) Schultz of Zumbrota, Rebecca (Warren) Robertson of Zumbrota, and Linette Tiedemann of Maple Grove, MN; 11 grandchildren, Brian (Stacy) Tiedemann, Bruce Tiedemann, Robin (Ricky) Rowe, Amy (Bob) Fliflet, Marji Schultz, Jennifer (Tony) Suk, Mindy Robertson, Grace Robertson, Mary (Kurt) Carlstrom, Jessica Holum, Chase (Fallon) Holum; 15 great grandchildren, Ryan Wendt, Roy, Rein, and Reese Rowe, Jayla and Lexy Schultz, Karissa Fliflet, Emily Tiedemann, Holly, Gunner and Bowen Carlstrom, Solara and Laiken Frank, Scarllett and Harley Holum; brother William (Socorro) Budensiek; sister-in-law, Vivian Budensiek; several nieces and nephews; and most important, her cat Blaze.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merral; infant son, Curtis; an infant brother Joyce; brothers, Kenneth Budensiek, Lester (Karen) Budensiek, Floyd (Reggie) Budensiek; brother-in-law, Walter (Joan) Tiedemann; grandson, Jerame Schultz.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Zumbrota, with Pastor Roger Pahl officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, February 29, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel, in Zumbrota and one hour prior to the service at the church.
