Marion Esther Phernetton

May 16, 1935 — November 8, 2025

Red Wing, Minnesota

Marion Esther Phernetton, 90, of Red Wing, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at Elysian Fields, Memory Care, on Saturday, November 8, 2025. She was born in Red Wing to Robert and Esther (Mann) Jablonske on May 16, 1935.

She attended Red Wing Public Schools. She married Lloyd Littlefield and they moved to San Bernadino, California where they had 2 children. They later divorced and Marion and the 2 children returned to Red Wing, Minnesota.

Marion married Allen Phernetton and they had 4 more children. They just celebrated 69 year anniversary in August 2025.

Marion kept busy raising their 6 children, being a wife and homemaker, and worked different jobs as a cook at various restaurants, including Bob's Lunch, Maid-Rite, and Fiesta. When her family was raised, she worked at Josten's Manufacturing for 17 years. She then retired.

She enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards, fishing, and being with family. Her days were spent canning fruits and vegetables. Baking and cooking for family and anyone who stopped by to visit. She was also the "word find queen".

She sewed masks during the Covid Pandemic, and shared to whomever needed one. Her homemade potholders were indeed a gift to all. So many patterns.

Later in years - she started using colored pencils and would color the most beautiful pictures. Best choice of colors, and such precision.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Red Wing. She also was an American Legion Auxiliary Member.

Marion had a gift to love little children. They always put a smile on her face. She was a strong supporter of St. Judes Children's Hospital, as well as other's that would benefit from her gifts.

Marion is survived by her husband; Allen Phernetton, her children; Gene Littlefield (Kathy), Debi Hilmer (Gary), Robert Phernetton (Becky), Brenda Pitonak (Barry Warren), Scott Phernetton (Anne), and Lonny Phernetton (Joe Jurusik), 11 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Edward Jablonske, Duane Jablonski, and Ronald Jablonske, sister; Delores Kirchner, and granddaughter; Maria Phernetton.
