Mark Lundberg

Mark Allen Lundberg, 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan 19, 2024, at his home in Rochester.

He was born March 13, 1958 in Red Wing to Robert and Alta Lundberg. Mark grew up in Red Wing and was a 1976 graduate of Red Wing High School.

Mark loved fishing and hunting, and as a young boy would often be found fishing off the levee wall. He especially loved all the outings and adventures with the newly started ELC program in Red Wing. As much as Mark enjoyed being outdoors, he was never especially fond of winter, so after graduation, he moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL where he drove for a delivery service. He met Sandra Jimenez there, and they were married on Nov 5, 1986. They traveled extensively, as Mark always had a passion for travel. They eventually moved back to Minnesota and started their family in Cottage Grove. They later divorced. Mark worked hard, driving for Kemps full-time, and he also started his own vending business.

Mark had a massive stroke on Jan 1, 2000, which changed his path dramatically, but the things that did not change was his love of food and watching the Twins and the Vikings. Mark's big laugh could easily be heard from across the street! His greatest joy was his kids. He was intensely proud of his four children, and he never missed an opportunity to talk about them.

Mark is survived by his four children, Anna, Christian, Kimberly and Bryan Lundberg, all of VeraCruz, Mexico; his sisters, Cheryl (Dave) Matz and Linda (Tom) Sell; 8 nieces & nephews; and Aunt & Uncle LaMere in Michigan.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

His family would like to extend a special thank you to lonel and Lucia Dumitrascu and their staff at Oak Valley Home for their superb and loving care for the past 6 years.

A private family service will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be sent to the Environmental Learning Center in Red Wing.
