Mark J. Muenkel age 30 of Rochester, formerly of Mazeppa died on Sunday, June 18, 2006 of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident in Goodhue County. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 4520 ? 19th Avenue NW, Rochester with Reverends Stephen Meyer and Alan Horn officiating. Burial will be in Mazeppa Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church. Mark Jerome Muenkel was born on April 30, 1976 in Rochester, MN to Fred and Merrilee (nee Frank) Muenkel. He grew up in Mazeppa and graduated from Zumbrota-Mazeppa High School in 1994 and later attended RCTC. Mark has worked for Randolph Plumbing out of Rochester for the past twelve years. He moved to Rochester in 1998 where he was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church. On August 26, 2005 he married Karen Savage at Resurrection Lutheran Church. Mark had a love for being with his family and friends, playing sports; especially softball and volleyball, motorcycling and camping. Those who so dearly love Mark that he leaves behind include his wife, Karen and their unborn son, stepdaughter, Norah Savage of Rochester, mother, Merrilee (Doug) Christianson of Mazeppa, father, Fred (Kathy) Muenkel of Pepin, WI, sister, Angela (Andrew) Miller of Rochester, half-brother, Jesse Muenkel of Pepin, WI, stepsisters, Rebecca Christianson and Sara Hedin, stepbrothers, Eric Christianson, Scott (Wendie) Christianson, Eric Hedin and Sean Hedin, maternal great grandmother, Rachel Fagerhaug of Mazeppa, maternal grandparents, Ivan and Darlene Frank of Mazeppa, paternal grandmother, Norma Muenkel of Kasson, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Mark was preceded in death by his great grandparents and paternal grandfather, Stanley Muenkel.
