Kollasch, age 71, of Pine Island, will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at St. Michael?s Catholic Church in Pine Island with Father Tim Dolan and Steven Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Island Cemetery. Mary died on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the home of her daughter in Pine Island. She was born Mary Lou McGowan on August 4, 1934 in West Concord, MN to Fred and Freida (Wolfahart) McGowan. She attended country school in Berne, MN and graduated from Pine Island High School. She was married to Malcolm Kollasch on October 8, 1953 at St. Michael?s Catholic Church in Pine Island. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Pine Island where Mary began a long career as a day care provider. She officially retired in 2002 after spending more than 39 years caring for children in her home. She was a member of St. Michael?s Catholic Church and the Pine Island American Legion Auxiliary. She most enjoyed baking, caring for children and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Paul) Clementson and her son, Jay (Amy) Kollasch, all of Pine Island, MN; six grandchildren: Shaun and Brady Hoffmann, Logan and Cassidy Clementson, Stephanie and Dana Kollasch; one sister, Patricia Allen, of Pine Island, MN; four brothers: Joseph (Joan) McGowan, of Fox Lake, WI, Donald (Katherine) McGowan, of Caladonia, MN, Harold (Ella Mae) McGowan, of Tacoma, WA and Ralph (Joan) McGowan, of Rochester, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm, on October 4, 1982; her parents; two sisters: Margaret and Nell; and four brothers: Jim, Cliff, Cash and George. Visitation will be Friday, February 24, 2006, from 4-7 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
