Mary "LaVonne" Feuling

Mary LaVonne Feuling passed away on July 21, 2026 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester. She was 89 years, 10 months and 21 days old.

Mary LaVonne was born August 30, 1936 in Winona, Minnesota the only child of Herbert and Elsie (Schouweiler) Honer. She grew up in Winona, a loved child. Her mother passed away when she was just a few months old and her grandparents, Susie and John Schouweiler took care of her. When they too passed, her aunt and uncle, Agnes and Paul Schouweiler stepped in when she was a young teenager. Through such tragedy, she gained so much.

LaVonne graduated from Kellogg High School in 1954 and went to Winona Teachers College for a few years. She soon married Lenus "Lenny" Feuling on October 12, 1957. Their marriage was blessed with six children. They lived in the communities of Montevideo, River Falls, Mendota Heights, and Kenyon/Wanamingo areas.

LaVonne was a devoted Catholic and involved in prayer circles, the Council of Catholic Women's group, and many other things at church. She was also very involved in her children's activities, such as sports, band, and choir, driving them everywhere to help with fund raisers etc. To say 4-H was one of her passions was an understatement. She spent many years helping her girls with their projects and long nights helping fill out their 4-H records and state records. This led to being a chaperone for the 4-H Exchange program and hosting kids from other states, as well as volunteering in various ways including her pride and joy, the clowning club. She also impacted the lives of other children in the club by mentoring and encouraging them.

After her girls had grown up, LaVonne was also a member of the Adult 4-H MAVA organization, and had worked for many years in the makeup and jewelry departments at Walmart in Rochester. Through the years, LaVonne and Lenny had many card parties with friends and family and enjoyed going dancing together. She also helped on the farm in many ways, whether it was on a tractor in the fields or running to get parts to fix equipment. She loved gardening, canning, listening to many genres of music, watching ballets, the Olympics, especially figure skating and being a good Christian example to her family.

Perseverance, Strength and Endurance are attributes that perfectly describe LaVonne. She will be remembered for her quiet strength and courage, her sense of humor, the willingness to help others in any way, her steadfast faith, her unconditional love, her bright smile and laugh and her warm motherly hugs!

LaVonne was a very caring, unselfish person and would've been humbled by this tribute and was clear to tell all to not make such a fuss over her. That's just the type of person she was. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed!!

LaVonne is survived by her husband, Lenny of Kenyon; daughters, Roxanne (Tony) Carrels of Lake City, Ramona Panchott of Rochester, Rochelle White of Saint Paul Park, Renee (Troy) Vogel of Red Wing and Robyn (Todd) Krajewski of Des Moines, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Elsie; her grandparents, Susie and John Schouweiler; her aunt and uncle, Agnes and Paul Schouweiler; son, Lonn Feuling, and brothers, Gerald and Warren Graner.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from 4 to 7 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home Larson Chapel- Zumbrota, with a Rosary service at 7 PM. Additional visitation will be from 9 to 10 AM on Thursday, July 30 at the Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM at St Paul’s Catholic Church in Zumbrota.

Interment will follow in Saint Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Kellogg, Minnesota.
