Meredith Everett

Meredith Louise Everett, age 72, of Red Wing, passed away surrounded by family Monday, October 27, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Methodist Campus. She was born June 17, 1953, in Red Wing to Lawrence and Deloris (Smith) Horlitz. Her father died in 1965 and her mom later married Bob Tubbesing who was a loving father to her. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1971 and continued her schooling at St. John’s School of Nursing in Red Wing. Meredith worked at the hospital for a short time, then began her 38 year career helping care for people at the Red Wing Health Center. In 2012 she retired due to health issues. She met Charles “Tom” Thomas Everett through mutual friends, and they married in 1973 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Wing. Meredith was a caregiver by heart. She enjoyed taking care of people and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed the simple things in life, reading, watching reruns of Gunsmoke and The Andy Griffeth Show, spending time at the cabin, and being with family.

She is survived by her husband, Tom of Red Wing; children, Heather (Richard) Rolland of Zumbrota and Chris (Melanie) Everett of Red Wing; grandchildren, Aidan and Keira Rolland, Alexis Everett; sisters, Dawn Tubbesing and Pam Skorude; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Deloris and Bob Tubbesing and Lawrence Horlitz; brother, Larry Horlitz.
