Michael "The King" Cardell

Michael “The King” Cardell, 58, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly Saturday, August 19, 2023 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.  He was born May 24, 1965, in Red Wing, to Kenneth and Sharon (Nelson) Cardell and graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1983.  He worked for Asplundh for over 25 years and then did over the road trucking, moving to Montana for a few years.  He returned to Red Wing and began working for Luhman Construction Company.   Mike loved motorcycles and snowmobiling and was a social guy who just loved to hang out with his friends.

He is survived by his son, Ryan (Gretta Vieths) Cardell; granddaughter, Tyler McGrath; 3 siblings, Steve Cardell, Theresa Schmidt and Angel Schneider and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.

A celebration of life for Mike will be 6 p.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023 at The Bluffs Bar and Grill in Hager City.
