Monica W. Fahnel

Monica Wilma Fahnel, 83, of Frontenac, Minnesota, died Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Elysian Senior Homes of Lake City.   She was born November 5, 1940, in West Berlin, Germany.  She grew up and attended school there and began working at a chocolate factory.   She met Ronald Fahnel while he was stationed in Germany for the US Army and they were married in 1963.  They made their home in Frontenac, where they lived for the past 60 years.  Monica did in-home day care and babysitting for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed going to garage sales, flowers and gardening. Ronald died in 2022.   

She is survived by her son, Thomas Fahnel of Frontenac and was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ronald. 

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2024 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson Peterson Chapel, Lake City.   Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.  Burial will take place at Frontenac Cemetery.   Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
