Nancy Flemke

Nancy Jo (Moore) Flemke, 71, of Pine Island, went to meet Jesus on Friday May 26, 2023.

She was born to Wayne and Margie (Winjum) Moore on October 18, 1951. She grew up on a farm near Medford, MN with her three siblings. Nancy graduated from Medford High School in 1970 and continued on to Luther College for a year and then transferred to the University of Minnesota Waseca where she studied Horticulture. This is where she met the love of her life, Joel. Joel chased and Nancy ran. They met again 2 years later and were married six months later on April 10, 1976. For the last 47 years Joel and Nancy have built a beautiful life outside of Pine Island where they dairy farmed and owned and operated Joels Greenhouse.

Nancy lived a full life enjoying many hobbies over the years. Her greatest love was working outside in the greenhouse or one of her many flower beds. She also enjoyed sitting and watching the beautiful birds from her sunroom and having many long conservations with her friends and family. Due to Nancy’s great faith and the support of her loving husband, she was able to live a full life even though she had been plagued with medical issues from the young age of 12, starting with diabetes and ending with kidney failure.

Nancy has touched so many lives through her journey and will truly be missed by all.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband Joel; sister, Colleen Ripka of Owatonna, MN; brother, Tom (Mona) Moore of Owatonna, MN; Mother-in-Law, Della Mae Flemke of Pine Island, MN; brother-in-law, Ronald (Sue) Flemke of Pine Island, MN; and several nieces and nephews. Nancy will also be deeply missed by Rascal her cat.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bruce Moore; father-in-law, Leslie Flemke; and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Flemke.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Mahn Family Funeral Home – Larson Chapel.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Zumbrota, MN with an hour of visitation prior.

Burial will follow the service at Pine Island Cemetery.
