Nancy Marie Ramstad

Feb 6, 1950 — Jul 15, 2026

Red Wing, Minnesota

Nancy Marie Ramstad, 76, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

A lifelong resident of Red Wing, Nancy was born on February 6, 1950, to Floyd and Leona (Pomeroy) Wood. On November 19, 1966, she married the love of her life, James "Jim" Ramstad. Together, they built a life filled with love and were blessed with three sons.

Nancy began her career at Smead Manufacturing Company in Hastings before her employment at Red Wing Shoe Company. There, she dedicated more than 42 years of service, before retiring in 2009. She also worked part-time at Treasure Island Resort & Casino. Nancy took great pride in her work and was known for her remarkable dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic, rarely missing a day throughout her career.

Nancy was a faithful member of United Lutheran Church and the Red Men Club. She enjoyed participating in pool, softball, and bowling leagues and was a talented athlete who loved friendly competition. She also enjoyed traveling to casinos across the country to play slot machines. At home, she would likely be watching Hallmark and Lifetime movies, but nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family.

Family was the center of Nancy's world. She was an incredibly proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured every opportunity to support those she loved. She faithfully attended countless sporting events, school activities, and special occasions, rarely missing an event. Whether cheering from the stands or ringing her famous cowbell at the hockey arena, Nancy was always her family's biggest fan. Her unconditional love, constant encouragement, and unwavering support were gifts that her family will cherish forever. She never let them doubt how deeply they were loved.

Nancy is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, Jim; her sons, Jamie (Kelly) Ramstad, Jeff (Katie) Ramstad, and Jason (Anna) Ramstad; seven grandchildren, Shayna (Aaron), Mitchell, Desmond, Nick (Maddie), Matt, Amira, and Landin; five great-grandchildren, Thor, Ledger, Laelyn, Crew, and Wells; and her brothers, Jim (Joanie) Wood, Mike (Sandy) Wood, and Steve (Debra) Wood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Leona Wood; and her sisters, Mary Lou Larson, Joyce Ryan, and Sandy Morseth.

Nancy will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering devotion to her family, incredible work ethic, and the countless ways she showed up for the people she loved. Her presence, encouragement, and unconditional love leave a legacy that will continue to live on through her family for generations to come.
