Nathan L Hinrichs

March 22, 2000 — January 29, 2026

Ellsworth

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nathan Lee Hinrichs, 25 of Ellsworth, who left this world far too soon due to natural causes on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Nathan was born on March 22, 2000, in Red Wing to Blaine and Andrea (Peterson) Hinrichs and embraced life with an open heart and an adventurous spirit. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his passions. He grew up in the Ellsworth area and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 2018. In 2022, he graduated from UW-Eau Claire with a degree in environmental geography. For two and a half years, he worked for Earth Optics and was currently an instructor and trainer at John Deere in Eagan.

Nate was the best son any parent could have. He was the most wonderful brother to Abby, who he absolutely adored, protected and of whom, he was incredibly proud of. No matter where life lead him, Nate always nurtured their relationship. No amount of distance will ever break their bond. In July of 2022, Nate met Amina, the love of his life and fell in love with her kindness, calm gentle disposition, and heart of gold. Nate was a true friend to “the boys,” new and old and he considered his friends his brothers.

His smile and kindness would light up an entire room. His heart was happiest when he was outside and spending time with his family and friends. Nate loved to turkey and deer hunt, looked forward to having a fishing pole in his hand, and was an avid Wisconsin sports fan. He was a source of joy and pride and will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Nate is survived by his beloved parents, Andrea and Blaine Hinrichs, sister, Abbigail Hinrichs; girlfriend, Amina Avdic; maternal grandmother, Kay Peterson; paternal grandfather, Virgil Hinrichs; aunt and uncle, David and Trudy Hinrichs and uncles, Todd Hinrichs and Ryan Peterson along with cousins and many friends; all of whom will forever cherish their memories of him. Nate was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ron Peterson; paternal grandmother, Carmen Hinrichs and his great grandma’s and grandpa’s.

The Hinrichs family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all family and friends who have upheld them in this extremely difficult time.

To honor Nate’s love for the outdoors and Wisconsin sports, we are asking if you are able, to come wearing camo or Wisconsin sports apparel. A memorial service to celebrate Nathan’s life will be held at the English Lutheran Church in Ellsworth on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2 p.m. with Reverend Pete Warren officiating. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service at the church. Immediately following the service, a celebration of life will be held at The Bluff’s, N1833 785th Street, Hager City.

Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Ellsworth Chapel.
