Patricia Bridget (Maher) Bauer

Patricia Bridget Bauer, 90, of Hager City, Wisconsin, died Saturday, December 31, 2022 at the Mayo Clinic - Methodist Campus in Rochester surrounded by her family.

She was born May 14, 1932 in Hastings, Minnesota to Joseph and Cora (Bolin) Maher. She graduated from Hastings High School. In 1955 she was united in marriage to Andrew Bauer and together, the couple raised 5 children. They made their home on the family farm in Hastings before moving to Grantsburg, Wisconsin. In 1998 the couple retired to a hobby farm in Hager City, Wisconsin.

Patricia was a dedicated farmwife and mother. She loved taking care of her animals and tending to life on the farm. She was particularly fond of the many cats, cows and chickens kept on the farm over the years, as well as watching the birds from her kitchen window. She also enjoyed music and loved hearing her grandchildren play the piano.  She was a homebody but in her later years enjoyed the occasional trip to Florida for the warmer weather.

She is survived by her children, Anne Ahmann, Susan (Allan Fung) Bauer, Liza (Rick) Chatt, Urban (Kathryn) Bauer, and Michael Bauer; 10 grandchildren, Laura and Jonathan (Grace) Ahmann, Christina (Ryan Jacobson) Fung and Bethany (Joshua Martin) Fung, Joseph, Samuel, Elizabeth (Jake Green) Chatt and Lydia Chatt, and Karl Bauer and Megan (David) Flores; 7 great-grandchildren, Ashton, Emma, Taylor, Annabelle, Jack, Wyatt, and Maddox.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Andrew Bauer; siblings, Mary Fox, Joanne Charlton, Monica Peine, and Lawrence Maher; son-in-law, David Ahmann, and her parents.

Mass of Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2023 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Goodhue with Father Thomas McCabe presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will follow at St. Columbkill Cemetery in Belle Creek Township.
