Obituary of Paul Robert Archer

Born December 30, 1943, to Oscar and Leeta Archer, Paul grew up on a farm in Pumpkin Hollow, on the “River Road” between Pine Island and Berne, MN. He was the youngest of eight children. Paul went to school through the 8th grade and helped with the diary farm until his parents sold it. Paul moved into Pine Island with his parents until they both passed away. Paul remained in the house, working for the Pine Island Elevator, then working for the Kahler Corp in Rochester in the kitchen for 8 years. Paul then moved to Zumbrota, working at the Covered Bridge Restaurant kitchen and Treasure Island as a night custodian. His last working years were at the Coffee Mill in the kitchen for 8 years until retirement. After retirement, he moved into an apartment in Goodhue in 2022. Paul joined church services and Saturday Men’s Prayer Breakfast where he gained many friends at Our Saviour’s in Zumbrota. Until medical issues made it difficult to live alone, he moved to the Zumbrota Health Services in June 2025. This is where Paul blossomed, not alone anymore, offering his help with activities and being a friend to everyone there. He took up latch-hooking, making several beautiful items, as well as jewelry that he would give to others and offer for craft sales there.

Paul will be laid to rest in the Pine Island Cemetery near family members. He is survived by one sister, Elvira Wilson in Mesa, AZ, nieces and nephews.
