Payton Marie Kemper

Payton Marie Kemper, age 5, of Red Wing, died suddenly on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the Mayo Health Systems, Red Wing Campus, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on April 27, 2018, in Rochester to Tyler and Miranda (Forsblad) Kemper.  She was born at 22 weeks and spent her first 179 days in the NICU in Rochester.  She was currently a kindergartener at Sunnyside School and enjoyed riding the bus, seeing all her friends at school and the dogs, Archie and Gus.  She loved music, playing with bubbles and with her sister, Paisley.  The 4th of July was her favorite holiday because of the loud fireworks.   She was a happy and positive little girl and could be very expressive.

She will be missed dearly by her beloved parents, Miranda and Tyler; two sisters, Paisley and Makiah; one brother, Zekiel; grandparents, Tammi and John Aslakson and Laurie and Timothy Behr; great grandparents, Debra and Steve Wood and Elizabeth and Jay Gualt; uncles, Brandon Forsblad, Jason (Meghan) Kemper, Jayce (Cassie) Aslakson and Joseph Thorne and aunts, Breanna (Kai) Johnson and Madison Wood.  She was preceded in death by her uncle, Christopher and grandfather, Richard.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2024, at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Justin Boeding officiating.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
