Peter Bengs

Peter Scott Bengs, Age 64, of Frontenac, MN was taken to his heavenly home surrounded by his family, Wednesday July 31, 2024, in the ICU at St Marys Hospital in Rochester.   Peter was born February 3, 1960 in Spooner, WI to Willard and Mary Bengs. He graduated Red Wing High School in 1978 where he excelled in football and loved building in shop class with his dad as the teacher. He attended the University of Wisconsin Stout with his brother Jeff.   Following in his father’s footsteps, Peter operated Bengs Construction for 30 years. He remodeled and built many homes in the Red Wing area and took great pride in his carpentry work.

Peter and his wife Ann (Johnson) were married on August 6, 1983 and were blessed with three daughters. Peter always made sure his girls and neighborhood kids had a good game of football or catch happening in the street. He cherished being active with his daughters and was fiercely proud of their accomplishments in life, and his grandchildren.   Peter enjoyed a simple life and could always be counted on for a story and his contagious smile. His family took comfort knowing Peter knew and loved the Lord, God rest his soul

He is survived by Ann Bengs; daughters Blair (Andrew) Loose of Plymouth, MN, Stacy (Kaleb) Silverberg of Eau Claire, WI, and Samantha of Portland, Maine; five grandchildren; father, Willard (Conie) Bengs of Hayward, WI; brother, Jeff of Ellsworth, WI; sisters, Debbie Griebenow of Twin Bridges, Montana and Tanya Richert of Red Wing, MN. He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Ellen; brother Tim; his grandma Ellen and his three favorite Scotties, Lady, Velvet and McGregor. 

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Ed Starky officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
