Raymond Orin Bach, 89, of Bay City, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at his home. He was born December 11, 1916 in Isabelle Twsp., Wisconsin to John W. and Julia (Bolen) Bach. He married Marian Stock in St. Paul on August 27, 1940. On November 18, 1942 he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater in the Guadalcanal until being honorably discharged on November 8, 1945. He and Marian lived in Bay City and then moved to Montana for ten years where he worked for a logging company and for the railroad. They moved back to Bay City where he worked as a logger for Esdaile Box Company, retiring in 1986. He served several years as a Bay City Constable and was a member of Harding-Hall-Darington American Legion Post serving on the honor guard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. He is survived by his wife, Marian of Bay City; 3 children, Shirley (Tom) Upchurch of Spokane, Washington, John (Joan) Bach of Bay City and Shannon (Ron Arden) Bach of Bay City; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Melvin Bach of Bay City, Loren (Lucille) Bach of Red Wing and Leo Bach of Luck, Wisc.; and one sister, Lorraine (Al Eastlund) Nelson of Red Wing. He was preceded in death by son, James; daughter, Sharon Bach; infant daughter, Sherrey Bach; sister, Grace Larson and an infant granddaughter. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Tom Johnson officiating. Burial will be at the Bay City Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be Tom Tyler, Francis Halverson, Dave Rother, Melvin ?Peter? Bach, Davis Niebeling and Jim Young. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday and one hour prior to the time of services Saturday.
