Richard V. Clemens

Richard Vern Clemens, 91, of Welch, died Sunday, January 14, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on December 4, 1932, in Binford, ND to Harry and Inga (Vangen) Clemens.  He attended rural schools and grew up on the family farm.  On June 30, 1952, he married Yvonne Jacobson in Cooperstown, ND.  They farmed for about a year before moving to Hampton, MN and then to Welch where they have resided since.   Richard worked many years for Armour Company and retired from 3M.   He  continued to farm and had a passion for his horses and dogs.  He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and most of all being with his family.

Richard is survived by his wife, Yvonne of 71 years; three sons, Randy (Tammy) of Welch, Tim (Dawn) of North Dakota and Kevin (Kathy) Clemens of Welch; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Julie Briese; one grandson, Cory Clemens and his seven brothers.

A celebration of life will be from 6 p.m. to 8 pm. Friday, January 19, 2024, at the Vasa Lutheran Center in Vasa.  Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
