Richard H. Jacobson

Richard “Jake” Harold Jacobson, 81, of Red Wing, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born August 18, 1945, in Northfield, to Harold and Elsie (Fosberg) Jacobson. He grew up in the Ellsworth, Wisconsin area and graduated from Ellsworth High School. He served in the US Airforce until he was honorably discharged in 1968. On August 14, 1971, he was united in marriage to Kathleen "Kathy" Watson, and they made their home and raised their children on the family farm in Featherstone Township. Jake worked for SB Foot Tanning Company for 43 years at the time of his retirement. Jake enjoyed farming, raising cattle and just being outside. He and Kathy were married 48 years when she passed away in 2019. He was a member of Vasa Lutheran Church, Leo C. Peterson American Legion #54 and Burnson-Lillyblad VFW #1218.

He is survived by his children, Sara (Johnie) Parker of Red Wing and Scott (Shelly) Jacobson of Red Wing; 4 grandchildren, Dallas (Allison) Jacobson, Connor, Laurel and Atlas Jacobson and one great-grandson, Wesley and 2 sisters, Elaine (Ron) Edlund of St. Croix Falls, WI and Carolyn Meixner of Ellsworth. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathy; son, Brian Jacobson and siblings, Harry, Helen and Herb Jacobson, Dorothy Rehder and Adeline Schroeder.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at Hope Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Vasa Lutheran Center, 15235 Norelius Rd, Welch, MN 55009. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Vasa Lutheran Church.
