Rita Jean Dhein

Rita Jean Dhein, 58, passed away on October 25, 2026, after a brief illness. She was born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, to George and Barbara Dhein.

In 2008, Rita met Jim Ruby, whom she described as the love of her life—a feeling Jim wholeheartedly shared. Together, they enjoyed planting flowers, tending their garden, and welcoming friends into their home for holidays and special occasions.

Rita loved cooking, baking, and celebrating holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas. Her creative spirit shone through her diamond dot projects, embroidery, and painting. With a lifelong love for children, Rita devoted much of her life to child care, working as a nanny for the past nine years.

Rita is survived by her beloved partner, Jim Ruby; her father, George Dhein; her children, Justin (Amanda) Dhein and Weston (Reanna) Fonder; six cherished grandchildren, Sophia, Ethan, Aubrey, Maverick, Teddy, and Fraya; her sisters, Robin Jensen, Bobbi Dhein, and Roxy (Paul) Kelly; and her dog Adam. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Dhein.

Rita will be lovingly remembered for the care she gave others and the joy she found in family, friendship, and making everyday moments special.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 p.m., at the home of her dear friend, Constance, at 1706 Neal St., Red Wing, Minnesota. A remembrance service will begin around 1:15–1:30 p.m. Arrangements with the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
