Robert "Bob" Bang

Robert “Bob” Bang, 78, of Ellsworth, died peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at his home. Bob was a man defined by devotion—to his family, his work, and the land he loved. For more than 53 years, he shared a steadfast and loving marriage with his wife, Redina, building a life grounded in loyalty, faith, humor, and quiet strength.

Bob was a proud father to Jennifer (Jeff) Murphy and Chris Bang. Nothing brought him greater joy than watching his family grow. He treasured his grandchildren—Jacob (Erin) Murphy, Kyle (Sophia) Murphy, and Emily Murphy—and found immense happiness in becoming a great-grandfather to Jameson and Henry Murphy. His pride in each of them was constant and unmistakable.

For more than 50 years, Bob dedicated himself to his career with CenturyLink (formerly Ma Bell), where he was known for his reliability, hard work, and the many friendships he formed over the decades. Bob also proudly served in the Army National Guards for six years.

Outside of work, Bob found peace and purpose in farming. He loved his cows, the rhythm of chores, and the simple beauty of life on the land. His loyalty to his father was unwavering, helping him farm until his father’s passing. For the last 30 years, Bob cared for his own cattle and spent countless seasons haying—a tradition that shaped his life. His kindness, generosity, and gentle presence made him someone people naturally trusted and admired.

Bob will be remembered for his warm heart, his unwavering work ethic, and the deep love he held for his family. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled and the memories he leaves behind.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Ellsworth Chapel. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at the Diamond Bluff Cemetery.
