Funeral services for Robert Jensen will be held Wednesday March 7th at 1:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel. Pastor Donald Noonan of Rochester Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester. Mr. Jensen, 63, of Kaufman, Texas, died Thursday March 1, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital of Kaufman following a recent head injury.
Robert Duane Jensen was born July 22, 1948 in Byron, Minnesota, and was raised in Southeastern Minnesota. He married Joan Meyer and they later divorced. In Minnesota he worked in various capacities; for the state of Minnesota at the fish hatchery in Crystal Springs, then worked as a bartender, and then as a truck driver. He was a past-president of the Altura chapter of the Jaycees, and was a volunteer with the Altura Fire Department. He moved to Texas more than 25 years ago, and continued working as a truck driver, and later worked in maintenance.
He is survived by his sons, Mark (Sheri Ball) Jensen of Theilman, Chad (Tanya) Jensen of Rochester, and Shane (Jackie) Jensen of Altura; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Jolene Wilcox) Mogren of Sterling, Alaska, and Daniel Mogren of Jamestown, North Dakota; sisters, Judy (Dale) Thorpe of Zumbrota, Kathy Mogren of Rochester, and Debra Dunphy of Saint Charles; and a step-brother, Robert (Suzanne) Mogren of Overland Park, Kansas. Also surviving is a special friend, Wanda Murray, of Kaufman, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille [Jensen] Mogren and stepfather, Robert Mogren; and an infant son, Jeffrey Jensen.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
