Robert George Ramseth, 80, of Stockholm, Wis. was unexpectedly called to his permanent home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at his beloved farm house.
Robert, who was known as Bob (or Darrel to some), was born January 29, 1941 in Sandborn, Min. to George and Arlene (Zimmerman) Ramseth. Raised in Redwood Falls, Min., he found a love for horses and building things with his hands.
After graduating from St. Olaf College in 1963, he taught Reading and English for fifteen years at the junior high and high school in Red Wing, Min., where he also coached wrestling.
Bob was an entrepreneur in two businesses, Ramseth’s Construction & Remodeling and Ramseth’s Paint, etc. which he owned and operated with his wife for decades.
Throughout his life, he was an avid outdoorsman, who loved trapping and skiing (ski patrol member). Bob loved to read, watch sports, play ragtime piano, fish the clear Canadian waters with family, create amazing woodworking projects from intricate cabinetry to custom doors and furniture, and recently was inspired to build bird houses.
Bob will always be remembered as a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and was a loyal friend to so many. Spending time with family and friends gave him the greatest joy.
Bob’s secret ingredient in the dressing at Thanksgiving brought many laughs as everyone took turns guessing what it could be. His quick-witted sense of humor and laughter will be missed.
Bob is survived by his wife of forty years, Anne; his children, Erik (Karen) Ramseth, Scott (Michelle) Ramseth, Carey Worthy, Joshua Bethke; and his seven dearly loved grandchildren, Kelsey (Matt) Collier, Katlyn, Michael, Lakin, Braylin, Noah and Kamden. Bob is also survived by his loving brothers John (Mary) Ramseth and Paul (Joyce) Ramseth.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, George and Arlene Ramseth.
