Robert Allen Sander

Robert Allen Sander, 64, of Red Wing, died Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Mayo Clinic Heath Systems, St. Mary’s Campus, in Rochester.

He was born December 5, 1958 in Bangor, Maine to John Lee and Beverly (Biebighauser) Sander. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1977. On September 11, 1981, Bob married Sherry Lynn Mann and the couple raised one son. They later divorced.

Bob worked for Asplundh Tree for many years before starting his own business, Red Wing Tree Service. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing all over the county. He hunted elk in Colorado and turkey multiple states. He also loved to garden. He liked cooking what he hunted and enjoyed grilling and smoking meats. Bob loved being a grandfather and he was most at home with one of his dogs at his side.

He is survived by his fiancée, Toni Stanfiel of Red Wing; parents, Lee and Beverly Sander of Red Wing; son, Brian (Mandy) Sander of Red Wing; grandchildren, Jase, Camden, and Maclynn Sander; 4 sisters, Merilee Sander of Northfield, Lori (Kris) Johnson of Red Wing, Keri (Glenn) Ciegler of Stillwater, and Melissa (Mike) Dube of Red Wing; as well as nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
