Robert Carl “Butch” Wolfe, 75, of Red Wing, died Thursday, July 7, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Arcadia, WI on October 4, 1946, to Sylvan and Jean (Tullius) Wolfe. He graduated from Cochrane-Fountain City Schools in 1965. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 until 1968, and he received the Purple Heart Medal for his service. Following his discharge, he purchased Butch’s Bar in Fountain City, WI and owned and operated it for nine years. He married Margaret Lehnartz on July 5, 1969. They later divorced. In 1978, they moved to Red Wing. He worked as a salesperson for Johnson Liquor and Quadronics Water Treatment Company. He also worked as a security officer at the Red Wing Shoe Company until his retirement. He was a member of the Leo C. Peterson American Legion #54 and the Burnson-Lillyblad VFW Post #1218. He enjoyed shooting pool, playing cards, was a huge Elvis and Green Bay Packers fan, and liked to play pranks on people.
He is survived by his daughter, Amy Wolfe (Elliot Baringer); son, Chad Wolfe; sister, Lonna (Ralph) Kouba; former wife, Margaret Wolfe; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karlo Hentges; and niece, Laura Pearson.
Memorial service will be at 12 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
