Roger Lee Flipp, Sr., age 73, of Goodhue, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 11, 1952, to Roy and Jean (nee Smith) Flipp. After graduating from Wilmot, South Dakota High School in 1970, he moved to St. Paul, where he met and married the love of his life, Jo Ann VanHouten.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jo Ann; his sons, Roger, Jr. "Sonny" (Angie) of Zumbrota and John (Deb) of Pine Island; grandchildren Haley (Josh Monjeau), Hanna (Robert Rehm), Mikayla (David Hong), and Hunter; great-granddaughter, Carmella Rehm; brother, Robert (Charlotte); sisters, Pat (Bob) Denny, Rita Hieb, and Susie (Tom) Frankfurth; and many nieces and nephews.
Throughout his career, Roger worked as a Journeyman Glazier for Local 1324, contributing to the construction of the Gonda Building, the IDS Tower, and many other skyscrapers. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren on the pontoon, bowling, fishing, and spending time on his hobby farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond; sister, Jeanne; and daughter-in-law, Dana Flipp.
A Celebration of Roger's Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 702 Third Avenue, Goodhue, Minnesota. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
