Rose Lee Larson, 92, of Red Wing, died peacefully, Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Benedictine Community, St Crispin’s. She was born on March 10, 1932, in Bradford, IL to Harrison and Lilian (Zollman) Crady. She graduated from Wyoming High School in Wyoming, IL. On June 1, 1949, she was united in marriage to Clayton Leonard Larson in Wyoming. They were blessed with three sons, Larry, Scott and Bradley. They resided in Abingdon, IL where she and Clayton owned and operated Larson Funeral Home until 1984, providing many years of compassionate care to many families. Following retirement they moved to Fort Collins, CO. In 2000, they moved to Red Wing. Rose was a member of First Covenant Church in Red Wing and a 50-year member of PEO Chapter E. She will be remembered as a wonderful homemaker where she enjoyed baking, cooking and was known as the “pie lady” and always loved to share a hug with everyone she met.
Rose is survived by her sons, Larry M. (Laureen) Larson of Crystal, Scott A. Larson of Red Wing and Bradley P. Larson of Cannon Falls; two grandsons, Bradley J. Gardner- Larson and Thomas M. Larson; three granddaughters, Sara Larson, Elizabeth Tapper and Amanda Lyttle; four great grandchildren, Autumn, Alexis, Ellie Rose and Tate and one sister, Juanita Lanier of Galesburg, IL along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clayton on February 10, 2009 and three sisters, Mary Miller, Ruth Gibson and Elma Strietmatter.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the First Covenant Church in Red Wing.
