Ruth Fordham

Rochester- A memorial service for Ruth Fordham will be 10 a.m. Friday at Bethany Samaritan Heights Chapel with Chaplain Larry Tantow officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Ms. Fordham, 80, of Rochester, died Wednesday (June 7, 2006) at Samaritan Bethany Heights in Rochester. Ruth Aldene Fordham was born March 23, 1926 in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School in 1944. She married Gerald Sullivan in Stewartville, they were later divorced. She was a homemaker in Rochester before moving to Rockford, IL where she attended the Rockford School of Cosmetology. She operated a Beauty Shop in Rockford before returning to Rochester. She worked at the Kahler Hotel Gift Shop for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed reading and organizing social events at Fontaine Towers. Survivors include three sons Terry Sullivan of Sarasota; Rinty Sullivan of Ontario, CA; and Mark Sullivan of Baypoint, CA; one granddaughter; two sisters Ione Colgan of NC; and Marjorie Peterson of CA; and special friend Bernard St. George of Rochester. Three sisters and one brother preceded her in death. Memorials are suggested to the Rochester Art Center or a charity of the donor?s choice.
