Ruth Sophi Jones

Ruth Sophi Jones, 85, of Welch, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the Prescott Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Prescott, Wisconsin. She was born on August 7, 1939 to John and Rosa (Schultz) Byer in Red Wing, Minnesota. Ruth graduated high school from the Maplewood Academy in Hutchinson, Minnesota in 1957. She was united in marriage to Morris Lee Jones in October of 1963 in Red Wing, Minnesota.

Ruth enjoyed growing a beautiful garden and she canned everything. She also enjoyed cooking with the fresh produce from the garden.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Morris and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol; her parents, John and Rosa; and her sisters, Dorothy, Delores, and Genevieve.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024 at the Red Wing Seventh Day Adventist Church in Red Wing, Minnesota with a visitation one hour prior to the service from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. also at the church. Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at the Cross of Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Welch, Minnesota.
