Scott Allen Reitmann

September 27, 1968 — August 22, 2024

Red Wing

Scott “Mort” Allen Rietmann, 55, of Red Wing, died after complications following an accident, on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems – St. Mary’s Campus.

He was born September 27, 1968 in Red Wing to James and Barbara (Nelson) Rietmann. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School and went on to work various labor and construction jobs in the area. Most recently he was maintaining the course at Mississippi National Golf Links.

Scott had a very particular sense of humor unique to Scott. He was a teenager at heart and loved to play the occasional prank. He was a jack-of-all trades who enjoyed tinkering with things, fixing and building things. He loved mowing his lawn and taking his beloved dog, Titan, for walks. He was captivated by history and could often be found watching history documentaries on the History Channel or on Youtube. Scott was very good at getting his point across in only a few words. He didn’t judge other people or their situations and he was always willing to lend a hand.

He is survived by his life partner, Stephanie McDeid; daughter, Rhyanna Rietmann; step-sons, Mitchell and Brandon Theis; his mother, Barbara; sisters, Jody Rietmann-Wendt, Brenda (Greg) Brantner, and Heidi Rietmann; sisters-in-law, Shellie Tucker, Sherri (Steve) Vanberg, Staci (Bob) Johnson, Jennifer (Dallas) Wilhelmy; in-laws, Fred and Marge Koehn; as well as many nieces and nephews and other family that loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father, James.

A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 5-7:30 p.m. at Mississippi National Golf Links. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
