Theresa Lorentz

Theresa Lynn (Lambert) Lorentz, from Rochester, MN at 52 years of age, passed away peacefully surrounded by family July 31, 2023, at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. She was a devoted & beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, homemaker, teacher & friend.

Theresa graduated from Our Lady of the Rosary Homeschool. Shortly after graduation, she served the Catholic Church doing missionary work for 12 years taking her to Mexico, Rome, Poland, the Czech Republic and all across the United States. During this time, she earned a bachelor's degree in education and child development. After her missionary work she started her teaching career in Illinois where she met George, who had also moved to Illinois for his 1st job after college. George and Theresa had been married for 17 years. Theresa suspended her career to raise their 3 children and eventually excelled at homeschooling them every year of their schooling. Theresa was known for her gentle, caring presence & maintaining strength during difficult situations; and of course, her homemade kombucha and lotion.

Theresa is survived by her husband, George; their three children, Joseph 15, Cecilia 13, and John 12; parents, Doug and Mary Lou (Lutz) Lambert; brother, Marc (Steffenie) Lambert; sisters, Cindy (Jon) Tapp, Christina (Anthony) Ashley, Mary Hendricks, Marie (Sean) Mayton, and Catherine Lambert.

Theresa is preceded in death by her sister, Dawn (Andrew) Bennett.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier, MN. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with interment following in the St. Mary's cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed towards Masses read for the repose of Theresa's soul.
