Thomas James Strusz

Thomas James Strusz, 55, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Red Wing, Minnesota on Thursday, June 19th, 2025.

He was born in Red Wing on July 9th, 1969, to Bob and Laura (Kind) Strusz. Tom graduated from Red Wing High School and attended Mankato State University. On October 10th, 1995, he married Nicole Wallace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Through this union, Tom and Nicky have four children. Logan (Emily) Strusz of Mason City, Iowa, Nick (Grace) Baker, Brooke (Jason) Berg, and Blake (Mallory) Strusz all of Red Wing.

Family mattered most to Tom, and he totally adored spending time with his three grandchildren, Freya, Leo, and Finnick. He also enjoyed many sports and loved the Minnesota Vikings. He spent countless fun-filled hours cheering on his Vikings with family and friends.

Tom was employed by the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Red Wing.

He is survived by his wife Nicky, four children and their spouses, three grandchildren, his mother Laura Anderson, siblings Susan (Butch) Sebion, Cathy (Chris) Nordenskjold, Mike (Judy) Strusz, Jeff (Vickie) Strusz, Todd Strusz, Tim (Kristin) Strusz, Buck (Nichole) Strusz, Lori (Ryan) Elsen, Robert (Sheilla) Strusz, Brian (Becky) Hase, Brad (Christy) Hase, Mark Hase, Shari (Ryan) Schnell, Jodi Knight, and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his father Bob and stepmother Mary Ann (Steffen) Strusz, stepfathers Rich Waldron and Ron Anderson, paternal grandparents August and Ruby Strusz, maternal grandparents John and Hannah Kind, niece Mackensie Strusz and nephew Nate Hase.

Tom will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew him.

A "Celebration of Life" in his honor will be held from 5-8pm on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025, at the Red Wing Golf Course, 1311 West 6th Street in Red Wing, Minnesota.
