Vera Schroeder

Vera I. Schroeder age 97 of Zumbrota died on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at the Kenyon Sunset Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Reverend Erich Westphal officiating. Burial will be in Zumbrota Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Vera Irma Pagel was born on November 20, 1908 in Goodhue County, MN to Albert and Mary (nee Buck) Pagel. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. On September 14, 1929 she married Hugo Schroeder in rural Goodhue. They made their home in Zumbrota, where Vera was a homemaker and Hugo was a barber for over fifty years. Vera was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and its ladies aid. She enjoyed needlework, especially knitting and crocheting, and baking. Vera is survived by one son, Howard Schroeder of Fort Myers, FL., one daughter, Verleen Howell-Retherford of Edina, ten grandchildren, Mark (Margie) Schroeder of Eden Prairie, Ann (Rob) Roemer of Newella, OK., Ruth (Grant) Davis of Eagle Lake, Mary Schroeder of Fayetteville, NC., Naomi Schroeder of Kentwood, MI., Beth Schroeder of Las Vegas, NV., Mary Howell and William Howell, both of San Francisco, CA., Sarah Howell of Minneapolis and Robert (Theresa) Howell of Bloomington, six great grandchildren, Abby and Ava Schroeder, Brandon and Sean Roemer, Radley Howell and Marie Howell. Vera was preceded in death by her husband Hugo and one brother, Lloyd Pagel. Arrangements are with the Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Larson Chapel in Zumbrota.
