Vivienne Clothdia (Huppert) Hoikka passed away on August 10, 2026. She was born to Felix and Mildred (Holmquist) Huppert on January 1, 1934, and lived in the Big River area until moving to St. Paul after high school. Vivienne married her beloved partner, John "Curtis" Hoikka on September 5, 1959.
She was a dedicated business partner in multiple industries, including the Hoikka House (St. Paul, MN), Hoikka Implement (Ellsworth), Ranch House (Ellsworth), Curtis Farms (Prescott), Pilot House (Prescott), Captain's Table (Prescott), Prescott Insurance Agency, and a service station and motel in St. Paul, MN, as well. As a business owner, Vivienne wore multiple hats as a payroll administrator, bookkeeper, cook, bartender, host, and everything in between. Vivienne was well known for the cakes she made for many occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries, bachelor/ette parties, weddings of all shapes, sizes, colors and flavors.
Vivienne is survived by her six children, John J. Hoikka & Jackie Schaar, Michael & Laurie (Frank) Hoikka, Charles F. Hoikka, Cheryl Hoikka & Scott Kinneman, Carolyn & Martin Gaslin and Tracy & Michael Kinneman; along with her cherished 17 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Roman and Mary Ann Huppert; sister in-law, Colleen Huppert; sister-in-law and friends Cathy Huppert and Joe Janisch.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John (Curtis) Hoikka; parents, Felix and Mildred (Holmquist) Huppert; parents-in-law, John "Jack" and Anna (Hillman) Hoikka; brothers, James, Ernest and Milton Huppert; sisters-in-law, Charlotte and Marcia Huppert.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church- Big River, (10137 570th Ave, River Falls, WI 54022), with Father William Brenna officiating. Visitation from 9-11AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Prescott.
