Wallace "Butch" J. Moore

Wallace “Butch” Joseph Moore, 78, of Red Wing, died Monday, May 12, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his family and friends, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born October 9, 1946 in Red Wing to Wallace and Lorraine (Larson) Moore. He graduated from Red Wing High School, class of 1965.

He worked as a union carpenter for a number of years before an injury took him off the job. He then worked for Bic and Treasure Island. He later retired. During that time, he managed the Leo C. Peterson American Legion and was a bus monitor for First Student. Butch married Mickey Lee in 2005. He enjoyed fishing and being out on his boat on the water.

He is survived by his wife, Mickey; daughter, Nicole Moore; granddaughter, Sophia Moore; step-daughters, Christy Van Camp, Mickey Zimmer, and Chelly (Shelley Peterson) Christiansen; step-grandchildren, Dionna and Dayne Zimmer; sister, Eileen (Gary) Ide and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Damon Ward.

Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., May 19, 2025 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of the service. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
