Wallace "Walley" Erickson

Wallace "Walley" Carl Erickson, 89, of River Falls, Wisconsin, died on August 2, 2024 at Comforts of Home Assisted Living in River Falls. Walley was born on November 9, 1934 to Harry and Genevieve (Huppert) Erickson in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1952. Wally worked for S.B. Foot Tanning Company for 46 years.

Walley was united in marriage to Darlene "Dearie" Marie McCusker on July 1, 1955. He lived in Diamond Bluff and Trenton Township for most of his life. Walley, known for his impeccable sense of style, greatly enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, set-lining, trapping, and managing the family tree farm. His love for forest management was evident in the countless hours he spent with his family planting trees, hunting and caring for their tree farm. Walley also had a passion for dancing and music, which brought joy to his life and those around him.

Walley is survived by his children, Kim Erickson of Hager City, Wisconsin, Michael (Pam) Erickson of West Palm Beach, Florida; Teresa (Olli) Auvinen of Chico, California, Kevin (Wita) Erickson of Prescott, Wally (Kris) Erickson of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Lisa (Mark) Hansen of Prescott; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Caroline. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Dearie; his parents, Harry and Genevieve; son-in-law, Lloyd Perine; grandson, Mikey Erickson; and brothers, Harvey and Albert Erickson.

A memorial mass of resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Big River with Father Bill Brenna officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, Minnesota and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at St. Mary's.
