Wayne Ralph Streiff, 75, passed away peacefully September 9th, 2023 at Methodist Hospital after a battle with many health issues. Wayne was born on September 1st, 1948 in Zumbrota Minnesota to Ralph and Doris (Hall) Streiff. He grew up in Pine Island Minnesota and graduated from Pine Island High School in 1967. After high school he was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam from 1968-1969 where after he received 2 purple hearts. He was honorably discharged. In 1972 he married Pat Solem. They had one daughter and later divorced.
Wayne found a passion in making cabinetry and spent many years building custom cabinets and owning Streiff Cabinets. He never failed to fully credit his mentor Arnie Gathje who first employed him prior to owning his own business. Wayne also had a passion for raising coon hounds and spent many years hunting. He could always be found driving around, having coffee with friends, and catching up on the latest news. Wayne was an active member of the Mazeppa Legion, Oronoco VFW and Osman Shriners. He rode in over 250 consecutive parades attending over 600 total. He also served as Quartermaster for 29 years.
He is survived by his daughter Kris Streiff, granddaughters, Whitney Floren, Ashlynn Taft, Maddy Kennedy, and Claudia (Jared) Buchardt. A sister-in-law Nancy Streiff, nephew Chad Streiff and family along with several uncles, aunts, and cousins. He is also survived by his special friend Donna Hoehne.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dean Streiff and nephew Blaine Streiff.
A funeral service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran church in Pine Island at 2pm on Tuesday September 19th Pastor Marie M.K. Anderson officiating. There will be a visitation an hour prior to the service. A light lunch and time for sharing will be at the Pine Island American Legion from 3-7 or immediately after the service.
