William “Bill” Roman Mundstock, 92, of Lake City, died on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the Elysian Senior Living in Lake City. He was born on March 26, 1933, in Stewartville, MN to William L. and Laura (Kritchman) Mundstock. He graduated in 1951, from Stewartville High School and then worked six months at Mayo Clinic. He enlisted in the US Navy serving from 1953 to 1957, during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge he returned to the Rochester area. On July 26, 1958, he was united in marriage to Gloria Piens. They were blessed with three children, Lisa, John and Thomas. For 40 years Bill worked for Mayo Clinic, mainly in radiology, retiring in 1992. Bill was an avid sports fan following and watching all the Minnesota teams along with college and high school sports. Golfing was a great passion of his, having achieved two hole-in-ones. Bill also found time to go fishing, something he looked forward to. He and Gloria traveled for many years in their motorhome, visiting all 50 states and also did a lot of international traveling. They also enjoyed wintering in Arizona and Florida over the years.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 67, years, Gloria; three children, Lisa (Colin) Mansell of Lake City, John (Shari) Mundstock of Tualatin, OR and Thomas (Pam) Mundstock of Zumbro Falls; six grandchildren, Laura, Kendra, Alex, Graham, Audrey and Mattea and two great grandchildren, Beau William and Ford along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters, Alvera Johnson, Delores Sullivan, Beverly Bottcher, JoAnn Krippner and Arlene Wilson.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City with Reverend Steve Frenz officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church Altar Guild. Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City.
