Winifred “Winnie” L. Pralle, age 89, of Pine Island, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026.
Winnie was born on December 29, 1936, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Alfred and Eleanore (Schmokel) Beulke. She was raised in St. Paul and graduated from St. Paul Central High School. Following her education, she began working at the Ramsey County Courthouse.
Through a mutual church acquaintance, Winnie met the love of her life, Thomas Dale Pralle. The two were united in marriage on December 6, 1964, in St. Paul. Together they shared a life that took them from St. Paul to Dallas, Texas, then to Rochester, Minnesota, and ultimately Pine Island, where they made their home and raised their three sons.
Throughout her life, Winnie embraced a variety of roles and occupations with dedication. She worked as a hairdresser, an administrative assistant, and even found joy working in the kitchen at Rochester Public Schools. She was a longtime and faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pine Island and remained active in the church community. She loved having “something to do.”
Winnie was many different things. Quiet was not one of them. Outgoing. Talkative. Friendly. Opinionated. Strong. All words that would describe her. Loving. Warm. Caring. She delighted in watching her boys and then grandchildren grow up. She loved to share a laugh with family and friends. It was important to her to stay connected to the people in her life, whether by phone, or an email, or just meeting for lunch. Her selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever.
Winnie is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Sara) Pralle of Wheaton, Illinois, and James (Chris) Pralle of Battle Lake, Minnesota; her three grandchildren, Cydney, Jameson, and Samuel Pralle; and her great-grandchild, Navyana.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son Daniel, her husband Thomas, her brother John Beulke, and her sister Mary Jahnke.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pine Island, with Reverend Jim Scaife officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in downtown Rochester.
