Yvonne L. Clemens

Yvonne Leonara Clemens, 89, of Welch, died Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on March 22, 1935 in Griggs County, ND to Jacob and Gudrun (Mortensen) Jacobson.  On June 30, 1952, she married Richard Clemens in Cooperstown, ND.  They farmed for about a year before moving to Hampton, MN and then to Welch where they have resided since.   Yvonne enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, crocheting, her poodles, flowers, birds and playing cards. It was only three short months ago that Richard passed away.  They celebrated 71 years of earthly marriage together and will now celebrate eternity together.

Yvonne is survived by three sons, Randy (Tammy) of Welch, Tim (Dawn) of North Dakota and Kevin (Kathy) Clemens of Welch; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren and four siblings, Josephine Anderson, Leah Meier, Mildred Jacobson and Kenneth (Chandra) Jacobson.   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; one daughter, Julie Briese; one grandson, Cory Clemens; four brothers, Reuben, Carl, Harry and Larry; and four sisters, Violet, Gloria, Irene and Leona.

A celebration of life will be from 6 p.m. to 8 pm. Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Vasa Lutheran Center in Vasa.  Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
