Charles Raymond Allyn, 87, of Red Wing, died at his home on Friday, November 13, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Red Wing on September 25, 1933, to George and June (Sutherland) Allyn. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1951. He served in the National Guard before enlisting in the U.S. Navy serving from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1954. On September 26, 1952, he was united in marriage to Alice Collischan at Christ Episcopal Church in Red Wing.  He worked as a dredge leverman for several dredging companies for 15 years and as an operations manager for 20 years at the Dakota Bulk Terminal. He retired in 1994. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post 54, and the Red Wing Elks Lodge 845. He loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by five daughters, Jean (Jim) Featherstone of Red Wing, Becky (Ray) Schafer of Red Wing, Debra Allyn of River Falls, WI, Sharon (Kris) Hager of Red Wing, and Diane (Dave) Stoffel of Hastings; four grandchildren, Derek Featherstone, Kelsie Featherstone, Samantha (Andrew) Bergeson, and Chad (Kelsey) Hager; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Dylan Bergeson; one sister, Betty (Jack) Anfinson of Mendota Heights; and one brother, Robert Allyn of Red Wing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Alice on August 4, 2014.

A private family graveside service will be held at Burnside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the River Bluff Humane Society or the Red Wing Elks Lodge 845.
