Doris Callard Obituary

Doris Mary Callard, 96, of Kasson, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 12, 2023. She was born in Buffalo, NY, on May 1, 1927, to Francis and Mildred (Diehl) Costich. She attended St. Ambrose Catholic School in Rochester, NY. She enjoyed roller skating and met her future husband Benjamin Callard at a roller rink. They were married in 1947 in Rochester, NY. They had four children and raised their family in Steger, IL, after moving there for Ben’s work with Graflex Camera Company. While there, Ben and Doris started Spectrum Corporation, a film processing company, and owned and operated Calumet Photo Shop, a professional photo lab. Doris enjoyed working alongside Ben in addition to raising their children. After their retirement, Ben and Doris moved to Floral City, FL. They loved to travel and went on many cruises. Doris enjoyed bowling, golfing, swimming, and playing cards with friends. Being healthy and caring for her body was very important to her and she sold and used Herbalife products for many years. She was wonderful at crocheting and made many blankets over the years. She enjoyed playing bingo and completing various puzzles, including word search puzzles.

She is survived by her four children, Linda Davidson, Diane (Rick) DeAngelo, Brian (Kate) Callard, and Ben (Carol) Callard; 11 grandchildren, Charlie, Cyndie, Pattie, Richard, Timothy, Kevin, Rebecca, Michael, Heather, Melisa, and Christine; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ben.

Burial will take place at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Arrangements made by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, MN.
