Douglas Allen Sigrist

Due to the ongoing pandemic, memorial services for Douglas Sigrist will be postponed indefinitely.  Mr. Sigrist, 66, of Pine Island, died Sunday October 18th at his home in Pine Island.

Douglas Allen Sigrist was born January 6, 1954 in Zumbrota to Allen and Marian (Carney) Sigrist.  A lifelong area resident, he was a graduate of Pine Island High School with the Class of 1972.  He began a 29 year career in 1974 with Mid-Am in Zumbrota, which later became DFA.  His career continued another 12 years when, in 2004, he became employed with Lakeside Foods in Plainview.  He retired in 2016.  He was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Rochester.

He married Margaret Crowley in 1982.  The couple divorced in 2018.

Doug was an avid reader, and he particularly enjoyed reading history.

He is survived by a sister, Theresa (Erwin) Poncelet of rural Pine Island; a brother, Duane (Patricia) Sigrist of Maple Grove; nieces, Michelle, Becca, and Heather; nephews, Ben and Adam; 2 great-nephews, and a great-niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
