Keith Alan Holst

Keith Alan Holst, 61, of Red Wing, died Thursday, March 26, 2020 at his home, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born June 14, 1958 in Red Wing, to Merlin and Joan (Mehrkens) Holst. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1976 and then attended Red Wing Vo-Tech. On May 5, 1984 he married Diane Cordes at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. With his parents, Keith operated the family dairy farm for many years. In 2005, he and Diane purchased River Oaks Health Care Center in Lake City which they maintained until 2015. Most recently, he was a driver for Hiawatha Valley Transit. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hay Creek. Keith enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also loved a good road trip. As long as Keith could drive, he'd go anywhere.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; two sons, Christopher (Linsy) Holst of Duluth and Kory (Amanda) Holst of St. Cloud; one granddaughter, Hudsyn; mother, Joan Holst of Red Wing; sisters, Sandi (Len) Berg of Welch, Colleen (Dana) Phillips of Hager City and Jean (Jason Hemmingsen) Martin of Red Wing; sisters-in-laws, Pam (Scott) Bender of Red Wing, Lori (Al) Hoyer of Bay City and father and mother-in-law, Vernice and Fran Cordes of Red Wing.

He is preceded in death by his father, Merlin Holst; sister-in-law, Vicki Bergene; brother-in-law, Paul Martin.
Because of the current social restrictions due to the pandemic, a private family burial will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuenralhome.com
