STRUSZ, KENNETH
FARIBAULT, MINNESOTA
Ken “Papa” Strusz died Saturday January 2, 2021, surrounded by his family, at his home in Faribault, following complications of COVID-19.  He was 80 years of age.
Kenneth Erwin Strusz was born June 18, 1940 in Red Wing, the son of Maynard and Elsie Strusz.  Raised in Zumbrota, he was a graduate of Zumbrota High School.  Ken served his country in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1964 and was stationed in Germany and stateside in California.  He attended welding school in the Twin Cities, and then returned to the Zumbrota area, living in Zumbrota and Bellechester.  For more than 40 years he worked at Meyer Utility Structures in Hager City, Wisconsin, and he retired in 2004.  He married Cheri Lynn Rueb on May 25, 1985 at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota.  Following retirement, Ken worked part-time at Ag Partners in Goodhue.  He and his wife eventually moved to Faribault, where they were residing at the time of Ken’s passing.

Ken loved horses, his cowboy hats and boots, and he had a never ending passion for restoring cars he acquired. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Cheri Strusz of Faribault; a son, David (Emily) Strusz of Kenyon; a daughter, Heidi Strusz-Bien of Owatonna; and five grandchildren, Riley Timm, Israel Hiller, Austyn Sankey, Devin Bien, and Zachariah Strusz.  Also surviving are his brothers, Vernon (Carol) Strusz, Leroy (Betty) Strusz, and Donald Strusz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew Seth Strusz.
