Merlyn D. Wimmer

Merlyn Duane Wimmer, 83, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at his home.  He was born November 9, 1937, in Red Wing, to Fred and Clara (Mehrkens) Wimmer and graduated from Red Wing Central High School.  Merlyn was employed at the Red Wing Shoe company for over 27 years, retiring in 1997.  He enjoyed sports, watching football, going out to eat and meeting with his coffee clutch at Liberty’s and being with family, especially at Christmas time.

He is survived by his sister, Arlene Aadalen of Red Wing and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Milton, Orlyn and Dale Wimmer and Verona Ray and Lois Kline and a niece, Gena Kline.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.  Visitation will be one hour prior.  Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery.
