Michael G. Friemann, 77, of Rochester, passed on September 5, 2021 at his home.
He was born in Rochester on August 25, 1944 to Reuben and Vivian (Handy) Friemann. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1962 and served in the Army during Vietnam from 1965 to 1967 and worked at Mayo Clinic Rochester for 43 years; retiring as a cardiac perfusionist. He married Elizabeth A. Metzger September 23, 1967 in Rochester. Michael and Elizabeth would vacation in St. Maarten and he traveled to Haiti to volunteer with medical procedures to help children. He enjoyed taking long walks, working-out at the gym, and spending time with his family.
Michael is survived by his children, Michael (Heather) Friemann, James Friemann, Jennifer Friemann, and Mary Friemann; grandchildren, Alanah, Marcus Mack, and Maren, Josh Friemann; great-grandchildren, Royalty and one precious great-grandchild arriving soon; siblings, Sandy Meier, Gary Friemann, and Mark Friemann.
Michael is preceded in death by his wife, and parents.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Mahn Funeral Home in Rochester with an hour of visitation prior.
Inurnment will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery - Preston following the service.
The family is asking that masks be worn when attending the service.
