Phyllis Krueger

Phyllis Krueger of Lake City, MN passed away July 21, 2019 at The Bluffs of Lake City. She was born on March 7, 1935 in Lake City, MN and her parents were Elsa (Henn) and Henry Hinck. She attended country school in Oak Center and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953. Phyllis was the first of the Hincks to attend college. She received her R.N. diploma from Abbott Hospital School of Nursing and later received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing Administration from the University of Minnesota. On December 9th, 1967 Phyllis married Walter Krueger at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. They lived in Minneapolis for six years where she worked at Abbott Hospital in the surgical unit. They moved to Lake City in 1974 and established Krueger Auto, a car repair shop, which they operated until 2005. Phyllis worked as the Director of Nursing at the Lake City Care Center until her retirement. In her retirement years she volunteered at the Plaza in Lake City. Walter passed away April 21, 2011. Phyllis was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by three sons, Keith (Yvonne Zhou) of San Francisco, CA, Craig of Rochester, and Chris (Angie Cates) of Minnetonka; four grandchildren, Eva Krueger, Nina Krueger, Martin Krueger, and Libby Krueger; sister, Angela Dittfach of Rochester; brother Bernie Hinck of New Richmond, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; 5 brothers, Harris, Lewis, Herbert, Robert and Gordon Hinck.
A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM Friday, July 26, 2019, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with Reverend David Peters officiating. Burial will take place at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour before the service at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be placed at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
